i am digging my own grave again as usual and blame all of this to [info]redevilica , without  her, none of this will be happening.

I think during my trip to Srilanka, [info]redevilica  mentioned that she was watching this new Korean Drama that was super funny and I briefly mentioned to here that I was going to try. After that, I did download the drama and thinking to wait awhile since the subs are not complete yet (back then only 4 episodes). Due to lack of "tontonan" 2 weeks ago I decided to watch You're Beautiful and I am hooked. History is repeating itself, now I am a big fan of Jang Geun Seuk, the leader of A.N.JELL *fufufufufufu*

Honestly, after watching 7 episodes, this drama is still going strong. Compared to BoF that is quite predictable and getting boring towards the end, at least this drama has an all-round good casting, good script, good plot and good acting. The female lead is played by Park Sin Hye, which I last saw her on Tree of Heaven long time ago, cryinig her oppa. The male  lead is played by some Korean teen heartthrob (I quoted from [info]redevilica ) Jang Geun Suk.

I am totally in love with this drama and with Jang Geun Suk. His facial expression is priceless and too LOL. In a nutshell I totally recommend this drama.

I am bit pissed off right now, so why not write an LJ posting regarding my latest affliction. Maybe some TLC from a certain Sheriff from Area 5 will make me feeling a tad better.

I am officially hooked to the 2nd season of True Blood.  I actually tried to watch last year when series debuted, but I only managed to watch 1 episode and cannot go further. Number one reason is the southern accent and the not-so-good-looking Bill (or Beuil), plus that time I found Bill’s dialogue is quite cheesy).

Fast forward to one year after, my fellow bebeks

[info]nefretiriii [info]nenekguru  are big fans of r True Blood (currently airing in the US is the 2nd season). Every Monday they went gaga over this Eric dude all over the tweets and my junking thread. So that got me curious, maybe I should give this series another go, which I did. I skipped the whole 1st season and jumped in on the 2nd season, with the help of recaps from [info]nenekguru  and [info]nefretiriii . Oh Boy, suddenly the accent doesn’t bother me as much as the 1st season, and I am officially in love with Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgard).  The storyline for this season is very interesting, the Bon Temps residents are quite funny. The only one I don’t like is Tara. Honestly, can we kill off her  character?

Only one episode left for this season, and the 3rd season will not be airing until June 2010 *SHIOK*

June 2010 is still a long way to go lor, must go through the whole season of Fall TV series (which is starting next week, AMEN!).

There are two new series that I am really looking forward to: Vampire Diaries (debut Sept 10 on CW) and Glee (debut Sept 16 on Fox). So we will be busy on the upcoming weeks, downloading will be back on full force p(^-^)q

Summer is Over!!!!

I think I can say that GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra marks the unofficial end of Summer movies. It has been a long and dry one. There isn’t many good movies out this summer, nothing as impressive as last year’s TDK (ok, standard is too high). The only movies that I truly enjoyed and feeling giddy after watching it would be Star Trek. The rest are just so-so. Harry Potter and Transformers are not even  that good. Some good comedies like Hang over and I Love You Man were quite fun. But overall, the only movie that stood out most probably are Star Trek and UP (I haven’t watched this yet, but I believe the reviews for this one, it’s going to be really good).

So I just watched GI Joe last night. I would rate it as entertaining.  It was action packed with Channing Tatum as the lead ( I am weak at heart after seeing him topless). It wasn’t boring for sure, since the action was always there (with some high technology military gadgetry), and I smelled a sequel at the end.  On random note, I watched the trailer of Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, looks quite interesting. Brad Pitt is in that movie, and I am not a big fan of him, but the premise looks very interesting.

Summer is ending and the Fall season is around the corner. Some Fall movies I am interested:

Fame

Sherlock Holmes

New Moon (d’oh)

2012 (may beeee)

Must buy the EW Fall movie guide once it’s out

Ps: I saw Scorcese’s Shutter Island (with Leo diCaprio) and Aang the last Airbender trailers (apparently it’s directed by Night Shymalan???)

Bye Bye Paperbacks, Welcome e-Book

Yes, I have become an e-book avid reader. I no longer buy those paperback. I have a new gadget which is the SONY-PRS505, a digital book reader. I bought this before I went to the States (so I can use it during my 30 hours ride across the antlantic) from an online store in the US (don’t ask why didn’t I just wait for my US trip).  I was already considering buying a digital book reader for a while, have asked around for information. I know Amazon has the Kindle, but it cannot read any PDF. I went from forum to forum, and finally decided to buy this one (and it comes in Red, too bad they don’t have a Pink version).

I still love going the bookstore and smelling those paperback, but hey I don’t have any storage place and I need the extra dough for other things *wink wink*

So

[info]nenekguru  are you ready to buy this ?

I'm putting in names of certain actors too and when you see those, you gotta guess which character they played is my absolute favorite of 'em all.--> in other language: guess which character that makes me "termehe-mehe", please google them if you don't know

Single, is it safe?

  • Aug. 3rd, 2009 at 2:55 PM

I don’t get it sometimes in this world, being single has some disadvantage. The one thing I am most annoyed are those airlines promo tickets, since most Singapore Airlines promotions required 2 persons minimum for travelling, if not the promotional price won’t apply. How sad is that? Every time I am looking some discount tickets from Singapore airlines, it’s always for two persons, NOT for one single person. So what if I like to travel alone? Is that a crime? It is very hard to get a friend to have the same itinerary so you can get a partner.

Another one is, from health point of view. I was on the bus on the way to work, when I saw CNA’s morning show about cervical cancers, and they said your risk is higher to get this cancer if you don’t bear any children, I think this is also apply to breast cancer. So is this like natural selection? When you are a woman you must mate and produce offspring in order to survive and build some immune system?

Is two is always better than one?

Summer Movies have Landed

Yep, Summer 2009 has arrived and we are entering the Summer Movie Madness. I have watched two movies from the Summer's selection. X-Men; Origins officially opened the summer season this year, followed by Star Trek this weekend. Good thing that Singapore movie schedule is almost the same with the US release (sometimes 1 or 2 days earlier).

x-men origins: wolverine )
star trek )

Two movies down and a couple more to come. Next week I am catching up with Angels and Demons and the week after that Terminator Salvation is out, but I have to watch this in Boston, since I will be there during that weekend. I hope I can watch a couple movies when I am in the States for two weeks :)

I think [info]nenekguru and [info]nefretiriii should watch this movie once it's out in Jakarta. Although I think it's weird that they delayed the movie for a month in Indonesia *sigh*

Next post will be me gushing about my new gadget *evil laugh*

9 working days to go before I go on leave *yipiii*

Taiwan drama still da best for me

  • Apr. 6th, 2009 at 10:06 AM

I'm sitting here at the lobby of my client's office, since she suddenly shifted the meeting to 1030 instead of 10. So what should I do while I'm waiting? Let's do a little posting with my wonderful blekbeli.

The impact of last week's Fahrenheit meeting is I'm suddenly in a "CLBK" mood. Not that I stopped loving them, but lately (after seeing them too many times last year), the love slighlty faded (dui bu qi). But anyway since I'm in the CLBK mood, I decided to start watching ToGetHer,da dong's latest drama (currently on air on Channel U). I managed to watch the whole six episode in 2 days. Glad to know I can still watch taiwan drama without the eng subtitles. The drama is entertaining, and its just the first drama with Da Dong as the male lead and he's playing a normal characted. I think I'm in love wit him *oh noo*

Dadong is so cute that I don't have the willpower to resist him *LOL* I'm going to start watching this drama in Channel U since it's airing concurently with GTV in taiwan. The love for Fahrenheit is back full force that I have no dokidoki feeling anymore when I watched BoF's ending during the weekend.

*sigh*

[越来越爱] 签唱会 29 March 2009, 3pm, Level 3 Garden Plaza, IMM Singapore

My 4th event here in Singapore for Fahrenheit, is it getting boring for me? Somewhat it’s kinda true, since I’ve been to their events here in Singapore, Jakarta and Medan totalling 7 times already. I must admit, I have been their fans for the last 2  years, since they just entered the entertainment scene until now. I don’t follow every  news about them, but I still buy their many versions of CDs (the fact that I just ordered their Japanese Photobook really doesn’t help my wallet).  Feeling nervous or giddy doesn’t even happen anymore. It’s Fahrenheit, I love them, and I love Wu Zun.

This time, I already heard all the FC in Singapore are q-ing up from last Monday. I guess the members are taking turn to q in front of IMM. I am not that hardcore ( I am a softcore fans at heart ^0^). But, for some random thing, 3 days before the event, I suddenly went to Fahrenheit Indonesia’s forum and asking whether there’s an Indonesian fans who is flying here for the autography session, and how odd, there was actually one girl who’s coming and she stayed around Orchard aread, which was very close to where I live. So at the end, I went with her.

</div>

Some sad things that happened:

Apparently they didn’t sign everyone, since there wasn’t enough time. There was chaos, and more fans fainted due to exhaustion (it was raining and it was hot also at one time). Due to them have to rush to another event, they cannot finish all. At one point, the boys were seen arguing with the HIM people, since they really want to finish the signing, but they were not allowed to do so. Ya Lun was sick at one point, and HIM people tried use this as excuse they they need to end the session early, when he did that, Ya Lun was heard saying to the guy: please don’t use me as the excuse. Some fans reported that HIM people like to scold the boys (curse you HIM). They were quite anal and super strict. At the end, they changed the auto session to handshake session, they were saying sorry to every fans and Ya Lun was seen crying during the handshake event. Ah this was so sad lah. HIM people should know about how many fans will show up based on previous ones. They should have anticipated this, then why organized an event so close to one another. I don’t mind having the St James even on the next day, as loong as all the fans were happy lah.  Too bad these bad things happened.

At the end of the day, 我还是一个飞轮海的头号FANS!!! All pictures can be seen in my FB account ^0^

So yeah, I have watched one of the most anticipated movie of 2009. I am not that interested at fist, but after reading some articles here and there, I decided to give it a try. Watchmen has opened here in Singapore since 2 days ago and it is rated M18 (nobody under 18 can be admitted). This afternoon I watched Watchmen (so redundant) after finished watching Role Models. Yep, I spent 5 hours in the afternoon holed up in the cinema :D

watchmen *no spoiler* =D )

Life so far has been quiet down this past week. After last week, I practically worked 14 hours a day for the whole week, this week had been great. But why do I have a feeling I will be repeating that last week by end of March? *sigh* Last weekend in Jakarta was also not bad, I managed to eat Sour Sally 3times (and I was only in Jakarta for 2 days). I am very proud of this!!! Now, when can I go back again? I have no idea, most probably it's going to be a long while.

On last note, I have secured an appointment with the US Embassy in 2 weeks, I will now then whether I can go to Boston this summer or not *sigh*

Now, let's continue watching Jack Bauer saving another day =D

not again.............

awcrap
I am so digging my own grave and literally throw myself inside of it too. I have been downloading the Boys over Flower K-Drama (the korean version of Meteor Garden) for the past month, but I finally managed to move on from episode 1 after all these weeks (too little time too many things to watch).

I am a big fan of Meteor Garden (Liu Xing Hua Yuan), regardless of what people say, for me the best MG version is the Taiwanese one. It was such a good drama and I have lots of good memories while watching that drama. Without MG, there is no such thing as TOTORO. But everytime they do it in another version, I alwasy give them the benefit of doubt by watching it lah. I watched Hanadan a few episodes, and decide to abandon it. It's just not clicking, regardless that all people say that it's way better that the Taiwanese version. Reason number one is the casting of Matsujun. I have nothing against him except the curly hair *LOL* I just don't like men with curly hair!!! All of the JE artistes, I always find it hard to like Matsujun with his curly hair. Although when his hair is straightened out, he looks quite ok lor. Anyway, I always thing the casting of him as Domyouji was not good enough for me, especially since he's not that tall.

So yesterday I started to watch the Korean Version again, and I am now up to episode 6. I declare that I love this Korean version too (but the Taiwanese one will always be no. 1 in my list). To be more precise, I think am in love with Goon Joon Pyo *sigh*. He's so good playing as the Korean version of Domyouji from his height *so tall* to his cute facial expressions. He really reminds me a lot of Jerry Yan and like
[info]pankponk said also have a bit of Xiao Mei (He Jun Xiang) in him. But gosh, he's so tall and looks damn good in anything!! I must confess, the wealth display and his costume is much better that MG lor.

sally oh sally, where are thou?

Got Milk
I am officially now addicted to the infamous fro yo named Sour Sally. For the life of me, apparently it's not some US franchise, but locally made in Indonesia. (well according to [info]nefretiriii the idea was ripped off from  Pinkberry in LA, but Sally is quite smart to introduce the super cuteness of the store to attract people). My whole family is now a big fan of Sour Sally.

So I went home for the Chinese New Year holiday (quite a long weekend for me), I managed to try Sour Sally on the 1st day I was in Jakarta. I dragged my mom to Senci, and we tried the medium cup with mochi and strawberry. It was so good, althout I don't think I will choose strawberry again from Sally since it was too sour for me T.T (bleaghhh). But the original flavour itself is quite good, not too sweet and not to sour, just perfect. Anyway after that, I just went to Sour Sally everyday with my mom. I remembered on Sunday, after church and had our lunch, I managed to persuade my dad to drive to TA just to sit there and ate Sour Sally then went back hom since we had a reunion dinner. For 3 straight days, my mom and I were binging on Sour Sally. My fave toppings would be the mochi and fruitty pebbles (and I bought the cereal yesterday from Liang Court).

Now I am back in Singapore, the only two fro yo place here are Yami Yoggurt and Frolicks. I tried Yami, but the toppings are quite so so, the taste of the yougurt itself is somewhat sweet than sour, but they have fruitty pebbles, and unfortunately that's the only good thing. I think I need to go to Holland V or Millenia Walk to try Frolicks. I think Frolicks might be better than Yami, but the location is quite incovenience for me. At least for cravings, I can always go to Plasa Sing for Yami *sigh*

So yeah, I am going back home again for 2 days later in the month to do another fitting. I actually already arranged my scheduling around Sour Sally. Meeting with [info]nefretiriii over Sour Sally and dragged my mom to another lunch at Senayan City for another Sour Sally. I think this trip can only warrant two trips *cries*. The sad thing is, this might be my last trip to Jakarta for this year. I am so saving my money for other trips, going back and forth although not quite ex, but if it were done a few times in the space of one month, not a good idea :(

Now, I make it my mission to sit in Pinkberry in NYC, when I 'm going there this May/June *cross fingers*

Random things, I watched Inkheart yesterday. My review was: not so great, so so, skipworthy, the story is no-brainer, BUT still much better than that Eragorn movie I saw a few years back ^0^

Periplus-my choice bookstore ^0^

  • Jan. 28th, 2009 at 5:02 PM
frh suit

I am very impressed by this particular book store’s service that I actually need to blog this. I was home for the CNY’s super long weekend, since going home on CNY is more a must than christmas or any other holiday. So yesterday when I was at the airport going back to Singapore, I was quite early so I decided to take a peek at Periplus. Then I saw some new books at the display and it’s way cheaper than any other bookstores (including the ones in Singapore). After thinking it over or how much I can profit from these books, I decided to buy. Then I saw these two Charlaine Harris’ books that nenek might want. So I called nenek, and asked her whether she was looking this title and yes she did!! I told her the price and to check at Periplus in PS. So I asked the store clerk to give me PS’s number.

Toto: can i get PS’ number (while holding the questioned book)

Clerk:oh I can call them for you to check their stocks

Toto: oh that would be great

Then they called PS and checked, quite a while but the PS store said they have the book in the computer, just couldn’t find the copy inside the store. So anyway I just called up nenek and told her the book is there and to give them a call to reserve a copy. When I was paying my books, suddenly the PS store called again, and told me that they found the book, and do I want to reserve it or not? I was quite surprised, then said yes please reserve one book for “IBU XXXX”. They were very helpful in helping me, sometimes these kind of things don’t even happen in Singapore.  Why I sing praises of this bookstore? I didn’t ask them to check the other stores, but they OFFER, which was RARE, since most people are too lazy, so  I AM the one who usually ask them to call the other store.

Why I love Periplus:

Cheap, friendly and their price tag is never placed on same random places.

Kino regardless in Singapore or Indonesia, they are by standards quite expensive and I have bad experience with Kino Jakarta from the early years (mostly with their Jap magazines, huaha I still remembered one clerk that I so hate until now, and I think she’s still working there).

I do miss Periplus, but since Singapore has bigger bookstores and stocks, I can live without lah :)

24: looking good

I finally watched the frist 4 episodes of the 7th season. One word to describe: WOW!!! I am really looking forward to the rest of 20 hours with Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida. The 1st 5 minutes are very promising, by the time we reached the 3rd episode, it just very mind-blowing XDDD

After 2 years, the 24 fanatics finally get to see Jack Bauer back in action saving the country once again! And the 1st four hours didn't dissapoint either. An automobile accident turned into a kidnapping opened the first 5 minutes followed by Jack Bauer's senate hearing. Monday night, when [info]nefretiriii is screaming in my bb chat saying that " TOTO COME QUICK AND WATCH 24, OMGG TONY ALMEIDA IS ONE BAD ASS, AND U WILL BE "TERMEHE2". This statement was proven right some minutes lates, especially after the kidnapper spoke (he was wearing a ski mask), and I heard his voice, and I totally screamed and paused the show, and grabbed my BB to scream back at [info]nefretiriii . The voice belonged to my favourite CTU agent Tony Almeida (2nd favourite to Jack Bauer). Oh gawd, after watching the whole episode, Tony Almeida is ALIVE AND EVIL AND BAD ASS, CAN A GIRL ASK FOR MORE????

For the time being, the tv-movie is somewhat related to the series, since the story is about the Senggala and General Juma's genocide, and the fact that there are some members of the white house that supplied money and guns to General Juma, who are they? we don't know (we only know about Jon Voight, and he hasn't appeared yet). Of all the 4 episodes so far, I think episode 3 was the best, due to we saw some CTU reunition under some action-packed situation.

Questions remained:
1. Is Tony a good guy or a bad guy? double agent? triple agent (if such thing even exist)
2. Is Juma and Senggala only the 1st story arc, and there's something bigger behind the whole Senggala thing?
3. Who killed First Son? Why was he alive in "Redemption" then suddenly got killed? We know that his friend is dead because uncovering the money laundering of Jon Voight
4. Is there any mole? Is FBI director a good guy or a bad guy?
5. Is Agent Walker going to join Bauer team anytime soon
6. President Taylor good guy or bad guy
7. Is someone going to die?

this is the first time I am watching 24 not in two days, but in the span of 20 weeks. Estimated last episode of the 7th season is May 3rd, 2008. Since 24 is airing uniterrupted!

I will be waiting anxiously!!!!!
